SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Beginning Sunday, September 10, the San Francisco Symphony’s concert broadcasts on Classical KDFC will move to a new timeslot—Sunday nights at 7pm—moving from Tuesday nights at 8pm. The San Francisco Symphony concert broadcasts will be a part of “NorCal Sunday Nights,” a new local concert broadcast series created by KDFC in celebration of its 75th anniversary season, highlighting live concert performances from the Symphony and other local classical music organizations. Hosted by KDFC Music Programmer and host Rik Malone, the Sunday evening broadcasts will air on Classical KDFC 90.3 FM San Francisco, 104.9 FM San Jose, 89.9 FM Napa, 103.9 FM Monterey, and kdfc.com, where they will be available for on demand streaming for 21 days following each broadcast.

KDFC will broadcast 27 concerts during the San Francisco Symphony’s 2023-24 season, beginning with the Orchestra’s September 22 Opening Night Gala concert (broadcasting on October 10). Click here for a complete schedule of the San Francisco Symphony’s 2023–24 season KDFC radio broadcasts.

This change to the broadcast schedule comes as Classical KDFC celebrates 75 years this September. The San Francisco Symphony broadcasts have been a Tuesday night tradition on Classical KDFC since 1994.
