Biography

Soprano

Soprano Anne-Marie MacIntosh is a third year Adler Fellow at San Francisco Opera. Last season she was featured on The Adlers: Live at the Drive-In, appeared in the Adler Fellows Concert at the Herbst Theatre, and made her War Memorial Opera House mainstage debut as Marzelline in Beethoven’s Fidelio. She returns this fall as Sister Valentine in Dialogues of the Carmelites. A participant in the 2019 Merola Opera Program, she performed Diana in the world premiere of Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s If I Were You. She also debuted as Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen with Opera San José, in Vivier’s Kopernikus with Against the Grain Theatre, and as Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette with Calgary Opera. On the concert stage, she has appeared in Mahler’s Fourth Symphony with the Calgary Philharmonic and in Orff’s Carmina burana with the Winnipeg Symphony.

Born and raised near Vancouver, British Columbia, Ms. MacIntosh is a former Rebanks Family Fellow at the Glenn Gould School and a graduate of the University of Manitoba and the University of British Columbia. She makes her San Francisco Symphony debut at these performances.
