Vocalist

Edna Vázquez is a fearless singer, songwriter, composer, and guitarist whose powerful voice and musical talent transcend the boundaries of language to engage and uplift her audience. She is a creative musical artist with a vocal range that allows her to paint seamlessly with her original material, an intersection of Mexican tradicional, rock, pop, and other genres. Ms. Vázquez’s passion for music and performance grew from her bicultural roots, with songs deeply rooted in universal human emotion, and she has traveled far and wide spreading her message of light, love, and cultural healing.

Ms. Vázquez has led her own projects including the Edna Vázquez Quartet (later Quintet), the rock band No Passengers, and the Edna Vázquez Band. She also participated in the Latin Grammy’s all-female mariachi fusion band Flor de Toloache. In 2022 she participated in Canto en Resistencia (Powerto the People!) with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. She also performed at the Hollywood Bowl with the LA Phil and pianist Lang Lang, performing Destino, a film collaboration between Salvador Dalí and Walt Disney. Ms. Vázquez currently performs with the acclaimed “little big band” Pink Martini and collaborates with orchestras across the world. She makes her San Francisco Symphony solo debut with this performance.
