Applications for the SFSYO are accepted from October 1st through February 1st each year for consideration for the following season. Applications are currently being accepted for upcoming rounds of entrance auditions for our 2024–2025 Season; the deadline to apply is February 1st, 2024. Audition periods will begin mid-March with rounds expected to continue through April/May. Applicants will be contacted with the specific audition procedure for their instrument after February 1st.

If there remain any vacancies in the orchestra following the spring audition rounds, YO Administration will schedule another round of auditions for specific instrument groups in late July and early August, prior to the start of the season. In this case, the Application Form will reopen on June 1st and will close again on July 1st.

Auditions are open to musicians aged 20 or under who are prepared for a serious commitment to challenging repertoire and to our complete rehearsal and concert schedule.
